I was so excited that I had to send this
out early. I just couldn't wait till the meeting share some great
news!
September was an outstanding month. The Rock Benefit Concert for Mia was awesome - and so was our Food Drive to benefit the ACT/ Spooner House
Shelter.
The Benefit Mia Concert at Downtown Danny O's went off without a hitch. Jaycee member Melissa Abenante and her band,
The Bittersweet Vine, played along with several other bands to a packed house. The total amount raised was over $1600!! I'm sure that Mia's family was very happy - I
know I am!
The Food Drive for ACT/ Spooner House in Shelton was another big
hit. Unfortunately I couldn't be
there but loads of thanks go to Michael, John, Gary, Eric, Val & Wendy who who collected all the donations! The
Spooner House shelter really appreciated all of your hard work. Seven carts full of groceries can really make
a difference!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Sherwood Island State Park, Sunday Oct. 19th
There is still time available to register for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Cancer benefit walk on Sunday, October 19th. Team shirts (Yes, we actually got them this year!!) are limited, so be sure to register soon!! Just click here to join the Shelton Jaycees Team. Like previous years, we will have snacks and hot chocolate before the walk and fly kites on the beach afterward. The whole walk is 3.5 miles, but you don't have to walk the whole thing if you do not care to do so.You really don't want to miss this, it's for a good cause and we always have a blast!
