Greetings!
President Kate Jager

Welcome to the Shelton Jaycees monthly E-Newsletter!

Wow have we been busy! May and June have just flown by.

The first two weeks in May started with our Mother's Day Flower Sale (both weekends), the Housatonic River Clean-Up, and the May State Convention & Statesman Award Banquet.  The following two weekends in May we had two American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraisers. One at Hula Hanks Bar and a second at Shaw's Supermarket.  On top of all this we started our Adopt a Soldier Program.

June was equally crazy. We started with our largest fundraiser of the year, the annual Arts and Crafts Fair, and  followed that the second weekend with the Children's Circus Show and The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.  Later in June we had some Car Show Committee Meetings, plus some members volunteered with the Greater Hartford Jaycees PGA Golf Tournament and with the South Windsor Jaycees Strawberry Festival. We ended the month helping run Milford High School's All Year - Class Reunion.

It's time to take a deep breath and start planning a few fun events between now and the Car Show & Bazaar and to begin thinking about some larger events planned for this fall.

Linked to this email is a MIDYEAR SURVEY to gage current interest in some of the activities we put on the calendar at the planning meeting last December.  Remember it's never too late to propose a new project idea.

Also included in this email is a link to a new section on our website - IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

This new section of includes news and details of past events this year. Of course if you really want stay up to speed with all the inside stuff, you need to come to the monthly membership meetings!

The next Membership Meeting THIS Tuesday July 8th. These monthly meetings are a great way to touch base with new friends and old. Meetings are always on the second Tuesday of the month, 8 PM at the Pinerock Firehouse on 722 Longhill Avenue.  Members may volunteer as much or as little as they like, and only for events that interest them.

See you there!

Kate
