Jairam Ramesh is the global rock star of climate change

The following is an excerpt from The Ocean Conservancy's Draft Letter to President Obama: Ecosystem-based Restoration: The overarching goal of the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Plan should be restoration of the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem to a healthy and productive status, which maintains a full complement of biodiversity and sustains appropriate human uses.

Nicholas Stern: Climate inaction risks a new world war

In an exclusive interview with ThinkProgress, Stern described his current understanding of the stark consequences of inaction, which defy the scope of standard economic language. If no global policy to cut carbon pollution is enacted, there is about a 50 percent risk that global temperatures would rise above levels not seen for 30 million years by 2100, an extraordinary rate of change. The "potentially immense" consequences of this radical transformation of our planet, Stern explained, include the "serious risk of global war":

California: Restoring Sharp Park to natural ecosystems would save millions

The City's Sharp Park Golf Course in Pacifica has been studied in depth by scientific experts with unparalleled expertise in aquatic ecology and wildlife, hydrology, coastal engineering and ecosystem restoration. The scientists' consensus is that removing the golf course to restore habitat east of the lagoon is essential for the long-term sustainability of endangered species. They recommend removing the seawall and the golf course and restoring the functions of the original natural ecosystem to protect the endangered San Francisco garter snake and red-legged frog.

Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet wetlands restoration plan faulted

The Army Corps of Engineers' $2.9 billion plan to rebuild wetlands destroyed by the recently closed Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet is far too small and too slow and improperly bills Louisiana for its cost, the state's senior coastal restoration official said in a letter released Thursday.
