What Is the Lord Most Concerned about in Our Giving?
May God open the eyes of our Christ centered pastors, teaching the word of God across America, to the urgent need for us, as the most prosperous churches in the world, to reestablish the "collection for God's people," practiced by the New Testament church. What will our excuse be with so much instruction on this important subject throughout the New Covenant, as well as the Old Covenant. The great evangelist and teacher, the apostle Paul devoted two entire chapters in the New Testament (2 Corinthians chapters 8 and 9) to this "obedience that accompanies our confession of the gospel of Christ," and "the proof of our love."
There is only one explanation for our failure in the Western church to see the multitude of teaching, by our Lord and the apostles, compelling us to "lay down our lives" for our brethren: We are being taught to give under the law in order to justify our prosperity and blind us to the persecution and sufferings of our family in Jesus Christ, living behind the "gates of hell."
