Dear Brethren

Sandy and I want to thank all of you who so generously gave recently to help with our personal needs. We are deeply humbled, and grateful, to the Lord, and to you, for your love, prayers, and help. Thank you dear friends and fellow servants.

In several days I will be leaving for India with our son Walt, and three other US brethren. We would deeply appreciate your prayers for our safety and health, and that we would be useful vessels for the Lord during this time with the Body of Christ in India.

We will be meeting with several hundred pastors and Bible women at seven Pastors Fellowship meetings, and visiting scores of village churches in several regions of one of India's largest states (over 76,000,000 population). All of these brethren are in great need of our love and help. They are all struggling to provide for the basic survival of their families, and their church members who are the poorest of the poor from the "dalit"  (untouchable) castes. Under Hinduism they have been social and economic slaves for over 3,000 years.

Before I leave, I hope to share with you more of the stuggles of these precious servants of Christ. Please keep them in your prayers. They are "the Lord's brethren." Matthew 25:31-46

I know some of you are also facing financial dificulties, and your prayers and love for our brethren will be a pleasing and sufficent sacrifice to God. If you are able to help these precious saints, as an additional expression of your love, please designate your gift for the specific pastor or "for my Indian family in Jesus Christ" or simply "India." I will endeavor to be a faithful steward in directing your entire gift to those with the greatest need. I can assure you there is no greater investment that we can make in the Kingdom of God than to "lay down our lives for our brethren" by having "pity on them" and "helping them." Christ lives in them. 1 John 3:16-20 You will be "laying up treasure in Heaven." Luke 12:32-34

Several days ago I received the following heartfelt letter from this dear brother.

"Dear Brother Court Wood and Sister Sandy Wood,

Greetings in all mighty Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Father we are fine and I hope the same for you.

Brother I am very sorry to say this because my younger son suddenly fell into unconsciousness. At once we here taken him to the doctor who conducted tests and told us that our son was suffering from brain (cerebral) Malaria with his spinal cord also infected. Immediately they rushed him into intensive care unit (ICU) and after 5 days they changed him into another ward. Brother we cried and prayed in the hospital and by the grace of God's our son escaped from death. Brother totally we spend 20 thousand rupees ($454 US).  Brother, the Lord has done a great miracle for us by saving my son. The doctor had told us there was no chance and for us to "pray to your God for His mercy." Brother, we prayed with tears and tears, and God listened to our prayers and redeemed our son from death. Brother, the Lord gave us a promise that is: "Don't be afraid I will keep thee." God saved my son. Praise the Lord.

Father at that times I had not a single rupee but I borrowed from anyone I could. I begged from other's for my child, and God helped me a lot through them. Brother from the hospital we send a phone call to brother George and he also prayed for my child and encouraged me.

Brother Court at your older age you are working for God in His vineyard, and raising support to so many poor pastors for the Lord's Work. Brother, In Jesus Name Ministries is helping to the poor a lot in these last days, and God shall fill you all with good health and pour out His abundant blessings.

Brother Court a special request to you. You are coming to India soon. Please visit our Church and my child to pray for us. Convey my salutation to all of the In Jesus Name Ministries brethren. Pray for us, as we are praying for you.

God Bless You

Your Loving Son Pastor Yeleti Ratna Vara Prasad

I will be seeing Pastor Prasad and his son during my visit to India. I am praying I will be able to present to him a gift from his American brethren toward the $454 medical bill necessary to save the life of his son. This is a huge amount for a Christian family in India. When faced with a medical emergency like this, they have no other recourse than to borrow the money at exorbitant interest rates. The doctors will not treat them until they are paid.

(Any gifts we receive for this pastor in excess of the $454 medical bill will be used to help other pastors with similar needs.)

Thank you so much for "laying down our lives for our brethren" with us.

Court and Sandy Wood

Note: Portions of the following verses have often been used to encourage giving for many causes. However, our Lord is clearly speaking of helping fellow Christians  (His brethren)who are in need. May His Word guide our giving, as He clearly states. May the Holy Spirit help us to properly understand, and apply, the Word of God, to our lives.

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.' "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." Matthew 25:31-46 (NIV)
