In Jesus' Name Ministries |
Greetings! Tomorrow I will be flying to NW Kenya for two weeks to encourage our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. I will be staying in a rural and very remote area of Kenya at the home of Kenyan Pastor Joshua Atieno and his wife Abigael. This entire area, including the Christian community, are very poor. Our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ need our encouragement and love so very much.
During my time in Kenya, I will have a few more emails forwarded to you with photos of our brethren. Please allow these photos to stir you to pray for our brethren. Also, I would deeply appreciate your prayers for my health and safety; and that I would be effective in proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord, and effective in strengthening the Body of Christ, our family.
If you are able to send a gift for our brethren, please call and inform Sandy at our office at 1-276-644-1089. I will be contacting Sandy every few days from Kisumu, and she will inform me of your gift. I will also be able to present your gift while I am with our brethren. Thank you very much for helping our brethren if you can.
Our brethren in NW Kenya praying fervently and effectually. Regularly they are praying for America, and for their Christian family in America.
Brother Joshua recently sent the following letter:
"Dear Brother in the Lord, I greet you in Jesus name from Saint lukes Ministry in Miwani, Kenya. Thank you for your love offering which came to us in good time for medication, food for orphans, widows, and the ministry. May the lord bless you for your love, and prayers for
us. We need many prayers for our leaders in Kenya to be led by the Holy Spirit to lead this
country. They are in constant dispute which is not healthy for this country.
The Muslims are pushing for Islamic law to be introduced in the new constitution
which will mean greater persecution for Christians. We are on our knees all the time."
Joshua, praying for an elderly widow named Mbori
Brother Joshua shares the prayer of the widow Mbori: (see photo above)
"Dear Beloved, I thought I should share with you a prayer
that I have never heard before since being called to serve the Lord. Widow Mbori said the following prayer.
'My Father Lord Jesus, you have seen the plight of your widow, you have sent this
servant with food to feed me and children, you have given me soap and cleaned
my body. Lord I know that I am better off than many who suffer. Lord to those
that are better off than me, I pray that no one should be in this state I am in
now. Lord bring those that suffer more than me to the state I am in now. I
thank you because you know and love me. Amen.'
I have never heard such a prayer like
this before and I too had to thank God for using us to be his vessels to help this dear widow.

"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them."
