Dear Friends
We just received the following photos and message from Alex and Emma, our brethren in Jesus Christ in the Philippines.
"Dear Dad Court & Mom
Sandy,
Greetings from the
Philippines!
When we had returned from
the tribal village of Iba, our team visited the house
of these three elderly women. In the course of the
conversation, they confided how hard their lives are
when no one cares for them.
One of them wept
bitterly as we had shown concern for them even just by being a
person who has listening ears to listen to their burdens. |
Here in the Philippines,
no government programs to sustain them with their
basic needs of food and medicines.
We have about 40 elderly
women in our congregation attending our prayer and fasting
and Sunday worship service. Every week we are giving them fare
for transportation so that they
can attend church.
Please pray for our
sisters in the Lord who are elderly.
In His service, Alex and Emma"

Dear Friends, with
the
Lord's strength and help, expressed by your love and giving, Court will be
leaving in several weeks to visit China and the Philippines. His purpose
in going is to bring the Body of Christ together in these perilous
days, and to strengthen
and encourage our family in Jesus Christ. It is our ernerst prayer for Court to bring with him generous gifts from our American brethren to strengthen and encourage
our brethren in China and the Philippines.
Were it not for your love,
and your giving, we could not help our brethren.
Thank you for giving, "as the Lord has prospered you," and for keeping us in your prayers.
If you would like to send a gift specifically for the elderly women
mentioned in Alex and Emma's email, please designate your
gift for that specific need. Court will be sure your gift reaches them.
Gratefully your servants in Jesus Christ, Court and Sandy Wood
Please also pray for us as we make final preparations
to move our office, staff, and residence to Bristol, VA in just a few
weeks.

"When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."
The Lord Jesus Christ - Luke 14:12-14

"And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints."
The Apostle Paul 2 Corinthians 8:1-4 |
