The Airline is allowing Bright to carry four suitcases packed with Bibles,
Christian literature, and much needed items of medicine and clothing.
Bright is also hoping to bring financial gifts to further encourage our
brothers and sisters in the love of Jesus Christ for them.
Bright
supports his family throughout the year as a chaplain at a hospital in
Dallas, TX. His beautiful wife Amaka (photo right) works as a nurse. They have two sons
Soto (age 11) and Eduka (age 5), and a daughter Chisom (age 7).
Bright provides for
his own expenses on these dangerous trips to Nigeria which he takes at
least once each year. Over the years he has become a great strength and encouragement
in Jesus Christ to the Body of Christ in Northern Nigeria. May our Lord raise up thousands of brave and godly men and women like Bright and Amaka.
I have spoken to Amaka (Bright's dear wife) on the phone several times, and will be calling them both again to pray together before Bright leaves on Monday afternoon. You can imagine the courage and faith that both Bright and Amaka must have for him to make this dangerous and vital journey.
Our brothers and sisters in Northern Nigeria giving thanks to the Lord for food and help Bright brought on his last visit
I feel very badly that I have not shared this need with you before this weekend. Bright advised me of his upcoming journey several weeks ago, but I was so pressed by other burdens that I neglected sharing this vital mission with you much earlier. Were it not for the few hundred precious saints on our mailing list, we could do almost nothing. I cannot tell you how much your "real" love, expressed through your prayers and giving, is accomplishing over these many years. We will only fully realize how much this has meant to our Lord Jesus Christ when we stand together before Him. Then we will be together with our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ from around the world, whom you have helped. We must continue to pray for and work for a revival of the love of Christians for one another, encircling the the world, in these perilous last days.
If you can join with Sandy and me in helping our Nigerian brethren as the expression of our love (no gift is too small to our brethren), please advise me by email court@injesusname.org and I will wire your gifts in full to Bright. You can let me know anytime during the next 4 weeks. Bright will personally present and express your love to our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. Your gifts will bring "thanksgiving to God." And our brother's and sister's "hearts will go out to you" as they "pray for you." 2 Corinthians 9:12-15
Bright on a previous visit inside the shell of a church standing with some of the church family in front of a temporary thatched church. Hundreds of churches have been burned down and thousands of Christians killed.

As Bright recently wrote: "....Just $55 is
the cost of a month's worth of meals, lodging, healthcare, and education and
can help a hurting family discover the everlasting love of our heavenly father.
Even one family in America that is able to help in any way, will make a
huge difference in the lives of these precious saints in Nigeria. Most of the
churches meet in makeshift bamboo huts because most of the members live
in abject poverty. Through generous donations, I am able to take Bibles
and other Christian books and literatures to the local pastors and also get
involved in providing a sound Bible based training that they often lack to
preach the good news of salvation.
Again thank you for
caring and for your compassion for our brethren in Nigeria. I hope to continue
to touch lives with passion for God and compassion for people
as I lift up my heart to God and my eyes to the
harvest."
Brother Bright
