Indian widow serving the Lord

Dear Friends in the Lord

Thank you for your prayers and help during the past few weeks that I have been in India, and in Lousianna sharing at a precious home meeting. My time in India was very fruitful and rewarding. One day was a particular blessing. My dear Indian brother, Pulidindi George, myself, and brothers Pradeep Manuel Kumar and Rajesh Dathib visited 7 village churches, and at each church vigorously proclaimed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We reached the last two churches after dark. The were inaccessible by car, and already exhausted, we had to walk with only a dim flashlight nearly one mile to each church. Just after leaving these churches, we spotted the snake below (possible a deadly Russell's viper). Many Indians are fatally bitten by these deadly snakes as they walk the roads and trails at night.

The efforts and night walks on the trails were greatly rewarded by the treasures of Jesus Christ that we encountered in these remote village churches in an area known as Srikakulam. Below is one of the beautiful pastors I met that day, Pastor M. Jaganadham, a precious widower with two children from Sirkakulam India.

I preached outside of this dear brother's church as we were surrounded by a crowd of inquiring Hindus. Many of them seemed hostile at the beginning of the meeting, but at the close, most joined us on their knees calling upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

After a wonderful thanksgiving with our family this past week, I took some time to open some mail and read the following letter of "Thanksgiving" from Sister K. Mary Ratam (photo top). Sandy and I have known Sister Mary for ten years and she is a humble and faithful servant of the Lord. Several years ago, because of the love and kindness of our American brethren, we were able to pay for a valve replacement in her heart. She would not have survived without it. Daily, with her American brethren's help, she reaches out to the orphans and poor near her humble home. I was blessed to see her briefly several days ago in India. Following, are excerpts from her letter:

"Dear Brother Court and Sister Sandy,

Our hearty greetings to you all in His holy name. Thank you so much for forwarding me the gift from our dear family in the USA. I have written and posted a letter thanking them.

I cannot adequately express my gratitude that you are taking special care and concern for this childless widow. I cannot repay you anything, but we will pray for you and for our dear brothers and sisters in America. We assure you that we will be continuing all night prayers for you all.

In our country, in so many places, the anti-Christians are killing many Christians. They are ruining our houses and burning churches and all our belongings. These Christian victims are suffering without food and shelter. Please remember them in your prayers.

Once again I thank you so much for all the help that you have done in His name.

My friends, please join us in strengthening and comforting our family in Jesus Christ in India. Please help Pastor M. Jaganadham from Srikakulam, India, and Sister K. Mary Ratnam from Rajahmundry, India

"This is my command that you love one another."
"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
