 Dear brethren in Jesus Chirst
Our contact in the Philippines sent us this following update:
"Dear Brother Court and Sister Sandy,
 Greeting to you today.
Our co pastor  who works among the troubled area has sent us these pictures of the aftermath of the hostile terroristic violent attacks at the town of Lanao about 5 hours from our city. It is now under control by government military yet the situation at the evacuation centers are so terrible and miserable. Many are getting sick because of lack of food and sanitation. There is a shortage of toilets, water, and generally lack of space. Its so crowded that children easily get sick with no proper ventilation and hygiene. Spreading of disease is susceptible since they are so crowded in a limited space. Families and children sleep together on the cold slab concrete floor with out coat or sweaters. Some don't have any blankets.
I woke up this morning disturbed and burdened by their condition. We are praying fervently for their needs in this time of sorrow.
In His service,  Pastor Alex and Emma"
murdered by terrorists
"He (the Devil) was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."  John 8:44
"Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know." "There is no fear of God before their eyes." Romans 3:15-18
The consequences of Muslim terrorism particularly against Christians, is not pleasant or comfortable to see, but it is a reality that we must wake up to from the comfort and ease of our Western churches.
....'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.  For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,  I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'  "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'  The Lord Jesus Christ Matthew 25
Thank you so much for giving and for praying. Apart from you the reality of our love would be empty. Because of your prayers and your giving, and our joining our hearts and hands together with our family in Jesus Christ, our love for our brethren becomes the deepest possible expression of our love for our Lord Jesus Christ. Indeed when we help our brethren, we are helping Him, for CHRIST IN US IS THE HOPE OF GLORY.

"And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints." The Apostle Paul 2 Corinthians 8:1-4
