1.  Somatic Meditative Inquiy Jan. 30- 31st, 9am-5pm. Cost: $200.00.  Presented by Cynthia and Mike Flowers. Cynthia is an integrative mind-body therapist, combining counseling, craniosacral therapy and energetic healing. Mike is a teacher, with degrees in philosophy and clinical psychology.  Somatic Meditative Inquiry addresses how we can creatively work with difficult emotions, aversion and pain. 2.  Eating for Healthy Bones
Thurs., Feb. 18th, 7-8:00 pm.

3.  Introducory Buteyko Breathing Class Series.  Feb.19th-21st.  Presented by Dorisse Neale, RN, BSN, Respiratory Educator.  The Buteyko Breathing Method is helpful to individuals suffering with 
symptoms of asthma, allergies, anxiety, sleep apnea and snoring.  It can help normalize high AND low blood pressure and heart irregularities; reverse breathlessness, even for those diagnosed with emphysema or COPD.  To register and for more information contact Dorisse at 828-450-5999

The Center Welcomes Dwan Kelsey, MSN, RN, ANP-C, Diabetes & Weight Management Services

Dwan is a nurse practitioner dedicated to helping people with diabetes and weight management.  She received her nursing degree from Winston-Salem State University and her masters from Duke University as a nurse practitioner.  She has served as a nurse at WakeMed and as a faculty member at UNC School of Nursing & Medicine.

Dwan's services include diabetes education and medication  and insulin pump management.  If you are pre-diabetic, type 2 or type 1 diabetic, Dwan is here to help. She can be seen without a physician's referral but also enjoys working in collaboration with patients' primary care physicians.  Her diabetes services are in network with BCBS, Medicare, Medicaid, Medcost and Cigna.  Cash payers:  $120 first appt. (60 mins) ; $80 for follow-ups (30 mins). 

Dwan also offers an effective, medically monitored weight loss program for those with and without diabetes. These appointments are not in-network with insurance.  Cost:  $200-250/month.  Dwan can help you reach your weight goal safely and effectively.

H1N1 Vaccine Available at the Center to Patients and the Public at Large
 IHC logo - no tect                           Flu activity is expected to continue for several more months.  The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends influenza vaccination as the first and most important step in protecting against the flu, and encourages people of all ages to get vaccinated.  If you have not yet received a vaccine, is it not too late.  Talk with your doctor if you have questions.  Vaccination appointments can be made by calling 929-7990.   No charge for BCBS and Medicare patients.  Cash payers:  $25 for a flu shot; $15 for a H1N1 flu shot.
Chapel Hill Primary Care offers Saturday and Evening Appointments
Katie,Jenny,JulieChapel Hill Primary Care recognizes that patients often have busy week days that make scheduling a doctor appointment challenging.  CHPC is now offering Saturday appointments from 9:00-2pm in addition to its Tuesday evening appointments.
