Greetings!
Think of the last time you procrastinated or avoided
something you needed to do with money. Was it paying a specific bill? Were you not
calling back someone you owe money to? When was the last time you thought of
asking for a raise or charging more and you chickened out?
Wouldn't you like to know why you do it, or what the impact is? As a
self-diagnosed "recovering avoider", I've come to realize this was a serious
issue for me. As an example: I put off reviewing my health care coverage in 2006 after I left my last
job and when I finally did, I found out I could have been saving $150 per month.
So in that 18 months of procrastinated time, I basically flushed $2700 of my savings down the toilet, with no additional benefit to show for it. Ouch!
I'm not proud of this expensive lesson, yet it's taught me to put systems in place to address these tendencies. (It also helps
me have genuine compassion for my many "avoider" clients.)
This

March certainly was an action packed month.
Belinda spoke at the Bryant University Women's Summit helping over 100 women
understand the essential topic "Women and Money: It's Emotional Business". The
closing keynote speaker-- the sassy and inspiring Judge
Glenda Hatchett (pictured at left)-- came to hear for herself how to
manage the very emotional topic of money.
Then the next week, Belinda was with Debbie Allen, CSP and
a host of phenomenal speakers "Maximizing Success". Debbie is known as the
Shameless Success Expert and we love how she showcased our INVEST IN YOURSELF
CD program.

Free and high interest rate checking accounts
Looking for where to stash your cash?
Although this website was featured on the Today Show
and USA Today,
it still seems to be a big secret!
Go to https://www.checkingfinder.com/ and
see what all the hype is about. Here's my quick analysis:
The bad news- Some accounts have a maximum
threshold. You will need to meet 3 of their 6 "qualifications", which are:
Debit/Check Card- Make a certain minimum number of debit/check
card purchases (usually 10-15). eStatements- Sign up to receive eStatements. Requires a
valid email address. Online Bill Pay- Make at least one payment through online bill
pay. Online Banking- Access your free online banking at least once. Direct Deposit- Direct deposit funds (ex. payroll, pension,
social security, etc.) Automatic Payments- Setup at least one automatic bill payment from
your account.
The good
news- There is no minimum balance, no fees (for the account or for on-line
banking or bill pay), all accounts are insured by the FDIC, NCUA, or ASI, and they
provide Nationwide
ATM fee refunds.
The great news- Get free checking at community
banks or credit unions with exceptionally high-interest rates such as 3% to 4%
interest, without the time requirements of a CD (Certificate of Deposit).
