embarrassing myself by attempting to ice skate on the frog pond in Boston last weekend. (Can you tell I'm
holding on for dear life in the picture at right?)In each
Olympic athlete's eyes, you can see passion, spirit, drive, and commitment to literally
GO FOR THE GOLD. They have put their entire life at stake for that one moment--
that one chance to show the world what they are made of. Some of the
performances literally took my breath away and brought me to tears-- to see the
energy of Evan Lysacek, the relieved gratitude of Hannah Kearney, and the pure
joy, fun, and mastery of Shaun White. Imagine if
you had that much excitement about...anything! What would light you up enough to
risk the time, energy and money and go for your dreams? Are you settling

What the New Credit CARD Act Means to You

why you are getting so many letters from your credit card companies in the mail
recently?
- Have
you noticed any changes to your billing statements?
- Concerned
about what the current credit CARD law
is all about?
There is a very good reason-because your
credit card companies now have increased obligations (literally) to communicate
with you.
President Obama
signed the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (or Credit
CARD) Act of 2009 into law on May 22, 2009. Most of the provisions went
into effect on February 22, 2010, unless otherwise stated, and are meant to
improve disclosures to consumers and end egregious practices in the credit card
industry.
Issuers
won't be able to raise interest rates on existing balances as long as you pay
on time and they will need to provide at least 45-day advance notice of fee
changes and interest rate increases.
Just these two changes alone will save consumers an estimated $10 billion annually, according to the
nonprofit research firm Pew in a recent report.

The FOX News Morning Show
picked up the RI Monthly cover story "Got Money?" where Belinda was a featured
expert. FOX hosted Belinda and the magazine Associate Editor Nicole Maranhas
for a quick clip filled with tips to help people to take control of their
money. Pictured below left are Belinda, Nicole and the anchor Lily Hopkins- click

WE LOVE IT when financial advisors take great care of
their clients. Barbara Cantwell of Edward Jones Investments
in Northboro, MA (pictured at right) hosted Belinda for two events this month for her clients and their
guests. Some women came to both events and already raved about how they are taking
action on the strategies I suggested and already making progress from also listening
