Here is what our customers are saying about the craftsmen at Handyman Matters:

"I think Mike does great work.  He is very trust worthy.  I can leave the house and trust everything will be okay.  He always communicates with us no matter what he's doing. He never led me in a direction that I didn't expect." - Jamie B.

"Fantastic.  We were extremely pleased.  Ed is truly a craftsman and very well trained. The work was spectacular.  He gave us a time range, so we were expecting the worst yet he came in on the low side of the bid."
- Victor S.
Over the Winter Many Projects Can Spring Up
Spring has sprung!  Take advantage of the warmer weather to take care of your Spring maintenance needs.  The winter winds and snow can cause damage unseen until the weather warms.  Repair the damage now before it worsens.

  • Check for loose or leaky gutters.  Improper drainage can lead to water in you basement or crawlspace.  Make sure downspouts drain away from the foundation and are clear and free of debris.

  • Check your sump pump before the first spring Quality craftsmen.rain.  Add water to the crock until the pump kicks on.  The pump should start when the water is 8-12 inches from the basement floor slab.

  • Inspect your siding.  Look for loose, missing or broken sections.  Also search for dry rot.  Dry rot is somewhat dry and brittle, with a blocky appearance.

  • Use a screwdriver to probe the wood trim Inspect siding and trim with a screw driver.around windows, doors, railings and deck.  Areas that are easily punctured may need to be replaced.  Make repairs now before the spring rains do more damage.

  • Paint your trim, especially window trim.  If the paint on the exterior of your home is flaking or peeling, the exposed wood could rot.  A little prevention could easily prevent the need to completely replace your trim.

  • Check outside hose faucets for freeze damage.  Turn the water on and place your thumb or finger over the opening.  If you can stop the flow of water, most likely the pipe inside the home is damaged and will need to be replaced.

  • Inspect your fence posts.  Extensive fence repair can be avoided by inspecting your fence every Check your fence posts.spring.  Check the fence post, support rail, and vertical picket condition.  A single post damaged by moisture or insect rot can bring down an entire section of the fence.  A fence line battered by strong winds can collapse when you least expect it.
