Renfe Reduces CO2 Emissions

Travelers Choose AVE Over Airlines
Spain's high-speed rail system, AVE, which began operating the Madrid-Barcelona route in February 2008, has surpassed airlines by carrying more passengers travelling on the same route. Passengers choosing AVE for their travel needs in July 2009 totalled 251,754, nearly 6,000 more than passengers carried by airlines (Vueling, Spanair, Iberia and Air Europa) in those same routes.
