Cabernet Inn - Grapevine Newsletter - June 2008
Greetings!

Early Summer in the White Mountains of New Hampshire is a time for revitalizing the senses. Everything is awakening from a long winters snooze. The views are spectacular, alive, fresh and green. It's hard to imagine that just about six weeks ago we still had four feet of snow in our back yard. Thanks for taking the time to check out our first newsletter! Here are a few ideas to inn-spire you to visit us this time of year as well as some new Cabernet Inn-ovations.

Enjoy!

Adventure Awaits You Rocky Gorge off the scenic Kancamagus Highway

If you like waterfalls, the White Mountains should be on the top of your list to visit.  There are well over 100 of these magnificent natural wonders to see. Some can be viewed from the road side such as Crystal Cascade or Jackson Falls. Others require a short walk like Diana's Bath, Glen Ellis Falls, Rocky Gorge or Sabaday Falls. Where Arethusa Falls or Thompson Falls require some hiking. Some of these waterfalls have created beautiful pools. Perfect for taking a quick dip on those warm days.

Cabernet Inn-ovations
Looking into the Garden Cabernet Inn award winning front garden

Each year we strive to make the grounds of the Inn just as inviting as the interior. We have toyed with several ideas of putting a water feature and a grapevine trellis in the front yard. Though it would be really pretty, it would be rather difficult to maintain with the amount of snow we endure in our winter season. So we decided to add a garden to the back yard. This endeavor we will call our 2008 work in progress.

Seedsn'weeds garden tip - this is a good time of year to divide and transplant perennilas such as hostas and day lilies.
Striving to be "Green" New Hampshire Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program

The Cabernet Inn is in the process of taking the Eco Challenge. We  are currently working with the New Hampshire Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program. It is imperative that everyone recognizes the importance of preserving our naturural resources now and in the future. By saving energy and water, reducing waste and eliminating toxic chemicals we will provide a healthier environment for our guests.
