"Even as a distance learner, the warmth and intelligence of this approach came through clearly and powerfully. In

Parenting by Connection, I found a parenting strategy that bridges the best of analytic and relational psychology with the every-day needs of parents and families in my practice.

Parenting by Connection reaches deeper than good communications theory into the nitty gritty of emotional release, safety and connection.

This is the "How To" of forming a secure and rewarding parent-child attachment. I recommend the Professionals Intensive in Parenting by Connection with enthusiasm and confidence."

"Can I Kiss You Good-bye?"

Q. My 5 year old is not big on hellos or goodbyes. Most of the time, I have been okay with this, but there are times when it seems inappropriate. For example, last summer we visited my family on the East Coast. My son didn't connect with my dad too much despite having spent a lot of time in his house. When he took us to the airport, my dad tried to give my son a hug goodbye but he refused. How do you suggest handling these situations?
