A Note from the Board

Hand in Hand Founder, Patty Wipfler, has begun a leave of absence until the end of January. The Board of Directors and the Hand in Hand staff support this decision and are well positioned to carry on the work of Hand in Hand during this time. When Patty returns, she will focus on Hand in Hand program development as Founder & Program Director. The Board is continuing with the search for an Executive Director, who we hope to have in place in the first half of 2011.

General Hand in Hand business will continue as usual. Sara Wood Smith, RN, Hand in Hand Instructor, Trainer and Board Member since 1996, will be the Acting Executive Director for the time being.

Hand in Hand is made up of a large, talented group of smart and caring individuals with hundreds of collective years of experience using Parenting by Connection. Together, we will continue our efforts to make Parenting by Connection available to parents everywhere.

Children's hopes soar in anticipation of a special occasion. They look forward to the extra attention, to extra fun, to special times. And when hopes are high, both children and adults can feel disappointments much more acutely." Full Article

The Gift of a Thousand Tantrums
"It all seemed to be going as planned but quickly took a turn when, out of the blue, Brook refused to sit in his booster seat and wear a shoulder belt. I took some time to try and negotiate a solution but after about 5 minutes it became clear this was no matter." Full blog post
