free community presentation: incorporating the family in adolescent substance abuse treatment

Attend our presentation Friday, March 23, 1-3 p.m.

Adolescent substance abuse treatment can be the most incredible process or the most aggravating setting in therapy.  For the Clarity CGC March community event, Chad Warner, LMFT, LCDC, will discuss how engaging the family in treatment can increase effectiveness and help the family as a whole move toward resolution.  He will present what this looks like in the therapeutic setting and share ideas on how to incorporate the entire family in the healing process.

Participants will:

  • Explore the challenges of working with adolescents
  • Gain an understanding of the impact of family systems on adolescence substance abuse
  • Develop strategies to engage families in treatment

The program qualifies for 2 hours of CEU credit (LPC, LMSW, NAADAC and PhD). Space is limited, so please RSVP.

Location: Clarity Child Guidance Center (main campus), 8535 Tom Slick, San Antonio, Texas 78229

"Nothing is worse than doing nothing."

PSA CampaignMany families are hesitant to get help, but early attention can make a difference for a child or adolescent struggling with a potential mental health issue. Pointing parents in the right direction for children's mental health was the motivation behind the recent outreach campaign sponsored by Clarity Child Guidance Center.

Parents and mental health professionals can access these online public service announcements and a five-minute video that explains how parents can get help for their child. The goal of the outreach campaign is to encourage parents to ask their primary care physician, school counselor or a mental health professional for help. Postcards are also available at no-charge to distribute to parents. Please link to our web page below for more information.
