free community presentation: applying neuroscience to psychotherapy
Attend our presentation Friday, February 17, 1-4 p.m.

NeuroscienceNeuropsychology studies the structure and function of the brain as they relate to specific psychological processes and behaviors. For our latest community event, Rowland Folensbee, PhD, clinical psychologist, will explain how to apply neuroscience to psychotherapy. Participants at this free community presentation will learn:

  • A neuropsychologically based model of how information is taken in, processed, and translated into behavior by psychotherapy clients.
  • How brain systems related to implicit/explicit memory, arousal, anxiety, emotion, and neural networks established by previous patterns of experience influence therapy processes.
  • Specific strategies for discussing with clients in basic terms the neuroscience foundations of multiple specific behavioral difficulties, thereby facilitating client participation in psychotherapy.

The program qualifies for 3 hours of CEU credit (LPC, LMSW, NAADAC and PhD). Space is limited, so please RSVP.

Location: Clarity Child Guidance Center (main campus), 8535 Tom Slick, San Antonio, Texas 78229
