When you go after goals, small or large, do you feel that no matter how hard you work toward something, you just can't get it because something is standing in your way?
The truth is we stand in our own way. Achieving goals has nothing to do with the economy, the government, your spouse, your boss, or any external factors. Everything starts and ends inside of you with your beliefs.
If you believe someone or something is holding you back, the Universe says "Yep. You're right."
If you believe that you are an unlimited child of God, and all of your needs are met and much, much, more, then the Universe says "yes" to that too, and gives you your heart's desire.
I remember my mother being retired from working years in management at an insurance company. She had great benefits, but as she got older, she was faced with needing medications that cost her hundreds of dollars per month. Her insurance simply didn't cover the expensive medications.
She was a widow, and a very proud woman who wouldn't allow me to help her, except occasionally. One day she was on the verge of tears, "I am on a fixed income. I don't know what else I can do to bring in more income."
Sitting at her kitchen table seeing her tear up made me sad. But then, I remembered the words of Ernest Holmes, a great metaphysical minister, "There is no such thing as a fixed income."
That resonated with me, and I thought, 'Right. The Divine is not limited and we are not either."
I told my mom what Holmes said, and we talked about her fears and that she had to surrender to her Higher Power.
After our talk, she felt better and told me she was going to start thinking differently. She was going to have to turn away from the beliefs that just because she was a senior, she was limited. I could see in her body, and in her face, there was a shift in her consciousness. A light came on.
Approximately two weeks later, she got from what she thought at first was a telemarketer. It was from a mortgage company. A man asked if she would be interested in a new program they established, called a reverse mortgage. At that time, it was a pretty new concept.
If you are not familiar with a reverse mortgage, here is the definition: It's a loan available to seniors aged 62 or older, and is used to release the home equity in the property as one lump sum or multiple payments. The homeowner's obligation to repay the loan is deferred until the owner dies, the home is sold, or the owner leaves.
To make a long story short, Walt did some research to make sure she was not victim of a senior scam. When everything checked out, mom ended up taking the reverse mortgage and was extremely happy. She was not only able to pay her prescriptions and bills with ease, but she had extra money to go on small trips and to go do other things with her friends.
In no way am I recommending a reverse mortgage. Be super cautious if you are thinking of it for yourself or someone you love. This was in the 90's when she made her decision, and of course the housing market and banks have definitely changed.
The point is, mom decided she was not a limited being, and that the only thing that stood in her way was her beliefs.
She is gone now, but she lived her last days being comfortable living the life that made her happy in the home she loved because she took her power back.
The Reverse Energy
Oftentimes, we say we would like something in our lives, but there is a counter energy we are sending out into the Universe, that stops our good from coming to us.
It's the law of attraction working opposite of what we want.
A great exercise is to write down what you want in your life, and then tune in and write down your core beliefs. Be completely honest.
Example: Goal: Lose 20 pounds by Christmas
Beliefs: I can't lose that much weight. The holidays start
right after Halloween, and I can't resist
the candy, I'll add more weight.
There are various ways to neutralize the wrong beliefs. However, one of the best ways we have found, is simply to say to the belief, "I love you. I love you."
Some people give themselves counter affirmations, and while that may work for them, for others it becomes a power struggle because they don't believe the new affirmation. This is why "I love you" is so powerful.
There is no greater power than love.
The Divine, Universal Presence, God, or whatever you call your Higher Power, does not operate under human economic laws, only Spiritual laws of abundance. The proof is in nature.
You are an unlimited being.
Love, Light and Blessings,
Janet
