Don't Let Anyone Bring You Down
So the New Year has started, and already you may feel that "new beginning feeling" is wearing off. Could someone be the cause?
A couple of days ago our neighbor's house was robbed, and police and helicopters were everywhere. Neighbors were out in the street wondering what went wrong. We live in a peaceful area where we have felt safe, whatever that means these days. However, the issue is not about having that stereotypical, naive response you see on the news, "This is a quiet neighborhood and things like that never happen here."
Yeah, right. But the bigger issue is this. Are we going to let one person spoil our peace? Are we going to let one person change our attitude when we have decided that this is going to be our best year ever? Are we going to let one person bring us down?
The answer is NO!
Many of us have these down and depressing moments at the beginning of the year. The robbery is like a fork in the road to decide what path we will go down.
When someone does or says something disturbing, we have a choice to either be pulled down in the gutter, or to refuse to let them take away our peace.
So if you have someone in your life giving you grief, remember the old saying, One monkey does not stop the show." By the way, this also applies to two or more negative folks trying to bring you down too.)
Happy New Year. Keep Sporting the right attitude?
