Will You  Give Us A Little Personal History?
I have painted off and on for years. My father loved to draw so I  
guess that is where my desire to create started. I have painted murals, furniture,
windows. I guess the most unique thing I painted was a small scale
advertisement for T-Mobile. My desire to paint came to a screeching  
halt in2006 when my dear mother passed away Christmas morning. For about a  
year I could not get the feeling back. Then I started feeling a "nudge" from
somewhere and I attended a wine and paint and the music they put on was
mom's favorite. I truly believe it was a God Wink. He was telling me  
it is time to wake up and get feeling back.

How Did You Come to Creative Spirit?
A co-worker had taken the Creative Spirit class that Carole offered
in the fall and kept encouraging me to sign up, so I did.
I have never taken a REAL art class so I was excited and
anxious all at the same time. Carole eased all my feelings and brought me
out of my comfort zone. I could hardly wait until the next class.


What Did You Get From Creative Spirit?
While taking the Creative Spirit class our fellowship time was amazing  
to me because of Carole's philosophy. She made us think about aspects of our
talents that we never probably would have. As everyone that creates  
anything knows, WE are our worst critic or there is someone who is quick to  
criticize before we have a chance to. We worked through that feeling which is
refreshing to me. Also, we learned to look at our work as a gift back  
to our creator who created us to please Him. Wow!
And, lastly Carole is so laid back in her classes so we all felt so comfortable painting. We were challenged to paint self portraits, and also to paint a song she played to us.

What Have You Done Since the Creative Spirit Workshop?
In our last class, Carole briefly showed us how to BLOG. Well, I am  
computer illiterate. I will honestly admit that. So creating a blog was a huge
challenge to me. Since her class, I have created a blog that I am adding work  
to as soon as I finish a picture.

Do You Have New Goals?
My goal is to paint each day and improve enough to hopefully become good enough to just paint. I have sold a few pieces and created some since the creation of my blog so that has been an encouragement.


The Next Creative Spirit Weekend Retreat
October 1 - 4, 2009

Creative Spirit is a unique workshop experience for women who are seeking to unleash their creativity from a spiritual foundation.  It is open to women who, though blocked in their creativity, are positive, open-minded, and open-hearted.  It is for women who acknowledge God as Creator of our universe and the original artist who intends us to be creative as well.

Creative Spirit II Reunion Weekend

Creative Spirit II Weekend is a reunion experience for women who have completed Creative Spirit I and are seeking to refresh their inspiration and creativity and share with others their creative journeys since Creative Spirit I.  It is open to alumni women who, though  having been
unblocked in their creativity find themselves hungry to be around women who are positive, open- minded, and open-hearted.
