Dance Department Chair Stanislav Issaev on NBC's Hit Reality TV Show SUPERSTARS OF DANCE! 
Governor's School Dance Department chair, award-winning ballet dancer and instructor Stanislav Issaev was invited to be the head coach for the Russian team on NBC's new hit reality show Superstars of Dance! He went to Los Angeles for filming back in December.
The season's premiere wowed the country on Sunday, January 4th and the first two-hour episode aired on Monday, January 5th. Stas can't tell us exactly how far his team gets, but make sure to watch the following episodes on NBC to find out:

See two of Greenville's finest actors bring to life this unforgettable struggle for a life well lived. The play stars Daniel Murray, the chair of the Drama Department at The Governor's School and Paul Savas, the Artistic and Executive Director of The Warehouse Theatre.

Arts Integration Across the High School Curriculum: An Introduction to Arts Integration
Recertification: 2 Hours or 40 Renewal Credits
Course Dates: January 24 - April 20 Free for teachers in SC GEAR UP schools! Teachers from the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities collaborate on this course in which examples from Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science classrooms are used to present an introduction to arts integration. The course content progresses from a brief history of arts integration and its rationale through an overview of unique languages of the five areas of the arts (Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Music and the Visual Arts). Included are suggested resources teachers can use to integrate these five art areas into their classroom from initial arts integration to the fully-infused curriculum. The course concludes with teaching strategies for meaningful integration and assessment. Click here to find out more! |
