| This
kit has been created exclusively for Internet Trains and is
sure to become a collectors item. The prototypes that
inspired the Bishop Creek Power and Light Kit were built in
the early 1900's. Many of these small electric generation
plants are still in operation to supplement the power grid
in the Western United States. Bishop Creek Power & Light
represents a steam-powered generation plant that is fueled
by coal or fuel oil received by rail through the Unloading
Shelter. Coal is brought to this plant in hopper cars or
more modern "Railporter" or "Bathtub" gondolas. Fuel oil
arrives in tank cars of appropriate design and era. The
Water Tanks hold the water supply for the plant and are fed
from a municipal supply or local stream. Piles of coal can
be added to represent fuel reserves and, as an alternative,
one or both of the Water Tanks can be used to store fuel oil
if you would prefer to have the plant's boilers burn oil
rather than coal. The steam created by these boilers spin
the turbines which in turn produce electricity. These
boilers and turbines are housed in the Steam Plant building.
The electricity generated by these turbines is transferred
to Generation Building where it is prepared for distribution
to Substation located behind it. From this Substation, wires
can be strung to your layout's towns and cities. The
Generation Building also contains a business office that can
be used by your miniature citizens to complain about and pay
their electric bills. (7"x9"x 6") Figures, vehicles and
