Orange Barrel Bash

Experiences often give birth to great ideas. Out of our road closure experience on 28th Street has come the great idea of having a party. When life is challenging, each of us needs others to give us hope, help, and encouragement. We're hoping to give a lift to the whole neighborhood!

We are in the process of trying to partner with other businesses on 28th Street and throw an Orange Barrel Bash in the parking lot of Fair Haven. Complete with food, live music, and a bounce house for the kids, it will be an opportunity to take a time out from the inconvenience and share in being a part of the same experience and community.

The Orange Barrel Bash will be next Thursday, October 2, from 5 to 8 PM - you can come and go as you are able. The entire Fair Haven family is invited to the party with the hope that you can lift spirits, share some laughs, and provide joy to our neighbors who are living with the past months of difficulties and hassles, compliments of our road commission. (Just for the record - we are grateful and look forward to completion!)

If you are interested in helping volunteer - from passing out flyers door to door this Thursday night (September 25) to working the grill to pouring drinks or helping kids in the bounce house - you can let Doug McClintic, our pastor of mission and multiplication, know. Just email him your interest and availability: dougm@fhmin.org.

This is just another way we're trying to live out the life-giving vision of Fair Haven in being blessed to be a blessing in our community. Please pray and plan on sharing in this wonderful outreach experience!

Together in the Cause,

A Great Big Thank You! This is from Kristin Englund, our Children's Ministries Director:  We would like to express our thanks and excitement for all of the volunteers that have stepped up in the past weeks.  We have had several volunteers say that they have felt God stirring their hearts in recent days and that they just couldn't deny it any longer.  We still have needs in several ministry areas and so if anyone has been thinking about serving they can come talk with me at the Children's Ministry kiosk. Thanks for listening to the promptings of the Spirit of God in your heart and life!

First Wednesday Night Supper a Success! We also want to say a big "Thanks!" to our food ministry team who launched our first Wednesday Night Supper this week. You're invited to bring your family to a tasty meal with the Fair Haven community anytime from 5 to 6:30 PM in the Family Life Center. Cost is whatever donation you are compelled to share. We served about 300 dinners this week and look forward to more in the future.

Sailing Together Session is this Sunday:  Sailing Together in ministry is what we do as a church. The more we can share, communicate, and interact, the better the journey will be. Sailing Together Sessions are to provide the opportunity to have an open conversation on the ministry and mission of Fair Haven, share the exciting things God is doing, and offer a chance to ask questions or clarify any issues. Join us in 400 South this Sunday at 12:30 PM.

Firestorm is the last message in the IGNITE: when God moved Celebration Message series from Acts 1 and 2. Be there this Sunday, September 28, to hear how God moved in the hearts of over 3,000 people to birth His church. You can read about it in advance in Acts 2:14-41.
