Dear ,
Once again our e-newsletter is filled with great information about our Brockton businesses and great upcoming community events. I encourage you to look at the new and established Brockton businesses, properties for sale and/or lease, recent investments made at the Westgate Mall, the upcoming Rox season and a special event recently held at The Shaw's Center, the Massachusetts Mayor's Association meeting that attracted and impressed Mayors from all over the state.
Signature Healthcare - Brockton Hospital is holding its 13th Annual Champions Fighting Cancer Walk. I am personally walking with Wally's Walkers and encourage you to walk beside me or become a sponsor.
I also want to make special mention of Brockton High School. AIM, the Associated Industries of Massachusetts, is awarding Brockton High School the 2012 John Gould Education & Workforce Development Award. Congratulations Dr. Szachowicz and the administration at BHS and Central. View the article here.. Let's celebrate the amazing award by supporting the BHS Drama Club's production of GREASE, the musical, on May 11, 12 and 13!

Westgate Mall
Brockton has made a number of structural improvements to the Westgate Mall, easing both shopping access and traffic-flow.
The popular discount grocer, Market Basket, will open a new store at the mall this spring, adding jobs and offering local consumers another supermarket choice. The 80,000-square-foot store will go in the 92,000-square-foot addition which is being constructed on the south side of the mall. The store opening is expected to bring about 250 temporary construction jobs and 150 permanent jobs.
There are many stores that fit diverse retail tastes and preferences. And don't forget, there are plenty of great places to eat! The mall also holds many events for children and families. Please visit their website for upcoming events and information about mall activities. |
Massachusetts Mayor's Association Monthly Meeting held in Brockton
Mayor Linda M. Balzotti was excited to host the monthly MMA meeting at The Shaw's Center on Wednesday, April 25th. Mayors from across the Commonwealth came together for discussion.
Mayor Balzotti was able to highlight various Brockton businesses and promote the various "homegrown" products that we are all so proud of. Mayor Balzotti also highlighted significant recent investments made in Downtown Brockton to all those who attended. Each of the Mayors in attendance went home with a "Taste of Brockton" (shown below), where local businesses donated products.
Thank you Brockton businesses for contributing to such a great event! |
