A Season to Celebrate

Hello, Everyone,
We are in a celebratory season here at Converge Southwest.
Change. This summer we have experienced the changing of the guard between my long time assistant, Jennifer Feehan, and the newest addition to our staff, Janie Plante. Change is challenging - Jennifer is missed by all - however, God in His goodness, provided the right fit at the right time for Converge and for Janie. See Janie's note below thanking everyone for extending a warm welcome her way.
Birth. Church Planting is an incredible joy! All within just months of each other, the Southwest has seen several new churches sprouting up. Most recently, The Wave in San Diego, Redeemer Community Church in Carpinteria and Movement Church in N. Fort Worth,Texas, all THREE launched on the same Sunday, September 18. We have great case for celebration and gratitude.
Growth. Church of Celebration in Aubrey, Texas, had a life-marker 3-year anniversary service on September 11. A moment of silent reflection was taken for those who died and served and have been left in the wake of grief ten years ago on that day of tragedy. In all things, Church of Celebration lifts up the name of Jesus Christ - even given this historic day - Jesus was glorified! Over 500 people attended this anniversary service. Praise be to God!
Longevity. September 18, Camarillo Community Church celebrates 50 years as a church family. Peter Horne spent the weekend celebrating with the Camarillo Church family. Converge Southwest is honored to come alongside Camarillo at such a joyous occasion.
Gratitude. Kym and I are so privileged to personally represent you, the CSW family, and to experience the excitement and joy that come from Christ centered moments shared in this newsletter. We know, humanly speaking, that these spiritual endeavors are possible because of the commitment and sacrifices of ministry partners like you. On your behalf, we continue to serve with the common goal of providing leadership, support and extending love to the pastors and wives who lead Converge Southwest churches.
Please remember to pray for our Converge Southwest churches. Additional plants will launch in the next few months, Imago Dei Community Church in Phoenix, AZ. Your prayers for our staff and leadership is greatly appreciated. We specifically seek wisdom to become increasingly intentional in perpetually strengthening the church.

Wave Church, San Diego, CA
 Pastor Jason Hardy, along with Clay Stokes, launched the Wave Church on September 18. Jason says, "The heartbeat of Wave Church SD is to be missionaries to our communities, living to show the life changing love of Jesus Christ." Since the church's inception, their numbers have grown, their faith has deepened and they fully invite the Lord to stretch them to become "the kind of believers that care and pray." The Generosity Culture
Recently, the Executive Ministers of each Converge region were asked to submit the names of "Generosity Champions" - individuals who "wake up every day thinking about generosity and desire to lea
d others in the journey." Several leaders have been selected who are on such a quest and because of the generosity exhibited, they have been invited to a Generosity Training with Scott Ridout, coming up in October. To learn more about the generosity culture, check out the Generous Church website.

The Summit offers the tools and resources needed to start your generosity journey. This event will feature insights and practices of other church leaders who are creating cultures of financial faithfulness and generosity in churches of all sizes.

Greetings from the Newbie! To everyone who has reached out to welcome me, I extend my gratitude. A further dose of thanks goes out to those of you who have answered my plethora of questions, helped eradicate my errors, and patiently extended grace my way as I learn the ropes at CSW.
