It's pretty exciting! Elmwood Park, one of the city's oldest and most utilized parks in the heart of downtown, will see some much needed improvements soon. Have you heard? Roanoke recently won another award! In July, the National Civic League (NCL) recognized Roanoke with an All America City Award for its collaboration with local organizations on a Community Solutions Action Plan to ensure more Roanoke children read at grade level by the end of third grade.  Click to learn more.

Eat for Education Campaign comes to a close

On June 30, the two-year, 2 percent increase in the city's meals tax, known as the Eat for Education Campaign, came to a close. Hats off to our community members who - over the past two years - demonstrated their strong support for Roanoke City Public Schools by frequenting city restaurants.
