Holiday Career & Lifestyle Fair to be held Dec. 28
As the holiday season winds down, the city's Department of Economic Development gears up for one of its major events -- the annual Holiday Career & Lifestyle Fair, to be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Roanoke Civic Center Special Events Center. Now in its sixth year, this free event offers a showcase of both employers and community activities that organizers hope will encourage natives and newcomers alike to recognize Roanoke as a great place to live. High school students learn about safety, leadership in new academy
Do you wonder if anyone cares about the dangers young people face? Things like texting while driving, or getting involved with drugs and alcohol? Are you concerned no one is teaching teenagers the skills they need to become leaders or how to prepare themselves for job opportunities? A new way to stay active and healthy this winter
