Thrivent Builds With Habitat for Humanity...

Hope and Help for ALL Lutherans

Thrivent Chapter volunteers will be contacting Lutheran congregations in regard to the financial and volunteer support for the 2012 build. The land development, construction materials and licensed labor for this build will cost approximately $102,000. The funding for this build will come from three different sources: 55% of the total cost from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, 10% from your local Thrivent Chapter(s) and Lutheran congregations, and 35% to be provided by the Lincoln/ Lancaster County Habitat for Humanity affiliate.

We need volunteers to start fulfilling the commitment to build. This year's goals are to have at least 50% of the volunteers on this build be Lutheran and 25% to be Thrivent members. Please consider scheduling a workday for your congregation or encouraging your members to come out and help on our regular construction workdays-every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. There will be work being done on the Thrivent Builds home most of those workdays throughout the summer.

The Address for This Year's Build Is:

2908 W. Arlington St. in Lincoln, NE.

Volunteering to work on the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity homebuilding project is a great opportunity for your church and its members to come together, have some fun and serve the community.

Volunteering to be on the construction crew is one way to participate in this build project, another part of your volunteer service can also include preparing lunch for all volunteers on the site during the Thrivent Builds project workdays. This can provide an opportunity for volunteers to get involved that are not comfortable swinging a hammer. Lunch time is a very important part of our volunteer's day and as such, is a very important and well received volunteer opportunity.

Please let us know in advance if your church or group does want to volunteer on the construction site or provide the volunteer lunch, and arrangements will be made to put your group on our schedule.

Meet The Thrivent Builds Family...
Rosario Miranda Family

Rosario Miranda & Family (Faith, Martha and Emanuel)

Family Partner:

Rosario is originally from Mexico, but the family has lived in Lincoln for 10+ years.

Rosario has been working at a dry-cleaning company for the last three years. She works hard to support her family. She held a 2nd part-time job for a while which caused her to lose other benefits for her children because of her slightly increased income. She ended the 2nd job to spend more time with her young family..
