Dear Sister in Ministry:
This year's Habitat for Humanity Women Build gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate our vocation and join together to demonstrate compassion in action.
All women in clergy are invited to join me for a special build day staffed by women pastors to help eliminate unsafe poverty housing in our community, which especially affects poor women and their children.
All skill levels are welcome and you don't need experience. The Lincoln/Lancaster Habitat for Humanity will provide training and a safety class. Habitat's permanent volunteer crew will work alongside us. You can work a few hours or all day. The Clergy Women Build Day will be May 24 (May 26 in case of rain) with morning and afternoon skills training classes on Saturday, May 21.
If you are unable to be part of the build crew, you can still participate by mobilizing your faith community to provide lunches for volunteers, funds for build supplies, designating special offerings or other financial donations. Call 402-477-9184 or email to register for training, sign up for the build crew, or provide other volunteer services.
The Clergy Women Build Day lets us lead our congregations by example, as Jesus led us by example. I look forward to working alongside you.
Peace and Joy,
Pastor Renae Koehler
