In just a couple of days people around the planet will celebrate Earth Day and Earth Week. There are a number of events taking place over the next several days, right here in our own community, that focus on ways we can help protect our environment and become more sustainable.

  • Monday-Friday, April 23-27: Recycle your old ink cartridges and get a free meal at The Club. Breakfast - 3 cartridges, Lunch - 4, Dinner - 5.

Recycling & Clean-Up Project

A recycling and clean-up project for Kahuku Elementary School has been announced for early May. The recycling project is not only good for the environment, it also benefits the school -- certain donations by residents will be used to generate cash for student programs.

Kahuku Elem Recycling 2012

While all of the items listed above will be accepted, the following can be redeemed by the school for student programs: scrap metal; used cooking oil; printer cartridges and toner; and fax machines, cameras and game systems. Please call Mari Lei at 293-2401 for more details about this worthwhile project.

Happy Earth Week!
