The Honolulu City Council Zoning Committee reviewed the Laie hotel SMA permit application and heard testimony from around 30 people -- nearly everyone in strong support.

The Zoning Committee appears to be in favor of approving the permit application and will vote on the matter once it has reviewed a legal issue that has arisen between city departments. We'll keep you updated as the SMA permit process moves forward.
