Improved drainage for Lā'ie

A much-needed bridge widening project is expected to begin in 2011 to help provide drainage relief to Lā'ie residents.  The State Department of Transportation has agreed to the project, which is expected to double the drainage capacity of the bridge next to Foodland.

Visitors view exhibit

Hundreds visited the display

About 400 guests visited the Envision Lā'ie Information Center and exhibit during Lā'ie Days Summer Bash (July 30) in the Lā'ie Shopping Center.  The exhibit showcases our rich history, the beauty and diversity of our community, public input regarding the potential of the area, and conceptual renderings.

ELExhibitIf you missed the exhibit during Lā'ie Days, you still have a chance to see it.  It's open Monday through Friday, noon to 1 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. in  the shopping center next  to Amber Nails.  You can also visit the exhibit outside of its operating hours; to make an appointment call 808-293-6427 or just stop by the Hawaii Reserves office - visits can usually be accommodated within 15 minutes.
