beaverDear MAC members and friends,

While the work of MAC and our members primarily focuses on companion animals, we are writing about an important and harmful bill that was passed by the Massachusetts legislature relating to trapping wildlife.  We are writing to you to help stop it on the Governor's desk by asking him to veto it.

If signed, this would be a huge step backward for animal protection in Massachusetts.  More animals will suffer from inhumane body-gripping traps.  The bill would remove some restrictions on their use, permitting them to be used more frequently.  We all know there is much to do for animals in our state and we need to move forward, not backward on protections -- for any species.

The Governor will be making this decision in the next few days -- and may do so at anytime -- so please call now

Please call Governor Patrick now:

617-725-4005 or, toll-free, 888-870-7770 (in state)

and ask him to veto House Bill 4943.
