I hope you're having more than a few of those perfect summer days! Hard to believe it is already mid-August.

We have a lot of catching up to do!

July found me in Atlanta, Georgia! (Hoo-boy... it was hot!) My first experience at the International Christian Retailer's Show--loved it!

The Christy Award dinner was on Monday evening. (Dazzling!) The Waiting was a finalist in the contemporary series category--didn't win, but I wasn't disappointed. Just blessed to be there.

Early that morning, I had received a phone call from the ACFW Carol Award coordinator--The Choice is a finalist in the "long contemporary" category. My cup runneth over!

And one thing I have learned from the Christy Award dinner: do NOT wear brand new shoes (even if they're adorable) to a fancy event. Blisters! Ouch, ouch, ouch.

Moving right along...

August...found me with a new book release! Amish Values for Your Family is in bookstores! Library Journal had this to say about Amish Values: "Fisher has rapidly established herself as a kind of conduit for outsiders interested in learning about the Old Order and Amish traditions."

Book News

Amish Values for Your Family: What We Can Learn from the Simple Life has hit the bookstores! This book is similar to Amish Peace (proverbs and true stories) but goes into the homes of Amish families. The takeaway value at the end of each story is in the form of "Road Map: Getting There from Here." Also included are short pieces of humor from the Amish. If you don't think of the Amish as funny, have another think! Here's an example: "When a man does dishes, it's called helping. When a woman does dishes, it's called life."

The blog tour for "Amish Values" starts on the 15th and I've teamed up with my publisher, Revell, to give away a Kindle and a Bill Coleman original. All the details about the launch can be found here.

A Lancaster County Christmas! This little story is set in our beloved town of Stoney Ridge, in the home of Mattie and Solomon Riehl (from The Choice). The first book is called The Keeper.
