The Board of Trustees of the Valley County Health System has hired William Sugg as the new President/Chief Executive Officer. The board completed a thorough recruitment process with the help of Steve Hayes and the Human Capital Group, selecting a CEO with the experience and necessary skills to lead the hospital into the future continuing to provide quality health care to the area.

 

Bill will be moving from Gallatin TN where he worked for World Associates, Inc., as a Senior Executive Advisor and Healthcare Consultant from 2009 to present. Prior to that Bill was President and Chief Executive Officer of Sumner Regional Health Systems in Gallatin TN from 1989 to 2009. Bill received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and his Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio TX. Bill was a center piece in the community of Gallatin with memberships in many community and professional groups as well as serving on numerous boards. Bill and his wife Vicki will be moving to the area with Bill joining VCHS on August 30th.

 

The Board of Trustees would like to thank Ashley Woodward, Interim CEO and the entire hospital staff for their help during this period of transition and are excited to have Bill and Vicki coming to our community.

Valley County Health System is pleased to announce the addition of Dion Machard, APRN-NP to its medical staff.  Dion will begin his practice in September 2012 at the VCHS Medical Clinics.

 

Dion grew up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa where he completed his Registered Nurse degree at the Eastern Cape College of Nursing. He came to Kearney in December 1997 where he worked as a traveling RN at Good Samaritan Hospital before moving to Savannah, GA. The Machard's missed the "good life" and moved back to Kearney in September 2000, where he has been working as an RN on the Progressive Care Unit at Good Samaritan. He has also completed the Undergraduate and Master's Nurse Practitioner programs from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Kearney.  

Dion and his wife Pauline have been married for 17 years and they have three boys Justin 13, Michael 11 and Stuart 8 years old. He enjoys the outdoors, swimming, hiking and camping. He is very involved in his local church and along with his boys he is involved in both Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.  They have a black lab named Bonnie who enjoys swallowing anything from toys to rocks.   

 

"We are looking forward to coming to Ord because it fulfills an 11 year old dream of mine to be able to provide the highest level of care to the people of Nebraska who so warmly welcomed us when we arrived in Nebraska 15 years ago," quoted Machard.  

 

"We are looking forward to Dion joining VCHS.   He offers a wealth of knowledge and will be a compliment to our medical staff," stated Ashley Woodward, Interim CEO of Valley County Health System.
