hundreds to see Valley County Health System's replacement hospital on Sun. September 26^th.  More than 850 attended the event that began with a dedication ceremony where Joyce Seward (Interim CEO), Kara Fischer (VCHS Board Chair), Senator Kate Sullivan, Governor Dave Heineman, Craig Holmen (Associate at TSP) and Bob Sevenker (County Board Chair) gave remarks. 

Following the ceremony and ribbon cutting, everyone was given a map of the new facility and encouraged to tour the building at their own pace.  A major highlight of the tours was the aqua therapy pool in the Rehabilitation Services Department.  This pool was donated by Greater Loup Valley Activities through funds received from the Alfred and Irma Burson Estate.  Heidi Peterson, Physical Therapist, was in the pool demonstrating how it works.  Another highlight was the stained glass in the Chapel, donated by the Boilesen family in memory of their parents, Floyd and Mildred.  Other areas of interest were the new digital imaging equipment and the two spacious operating rooms.  The sixteen private acute care rooms with full baths were also of interest to many.
