Students give to Students
We would like to acknowledge the following school group for their dedication to the KEF: you are all great examples of how young people can make a difference!
Students of Woodmere Middle Schoolhave been inspired to sponsor a child through the KEF after seeing a moving presentation during their annual Wellness Day Celebration this year. The Wellness Committee -which consists of students, teachers, administrators and parent members -are coming together to make this happen through fundraisers such as basketball tournaments and talent shows. While the mission of the committee is to promote Wellness within the school community the committee is dedicated to helping students understand that while coming together as a school community they can also be making a difference globally. WMS is proud to commit to a sponsorship to help a student in Kenya receive an education that would not be possible without the love and generosity of students and others around the world.
Woodmere Middle School's Wellness Committee
Meet Farida, Woodmere Middle School's sponsored student! She is 15 years old and attends
Komeeni Girls Secondary School. Her favorite subject is Science - not only does she excel in it, but she enjoys conducting the experiments. Her ultimate wish is to use her education to support schooling for her young siblings (now in nursery school) and to lead a happy life. ---------------------------------------

"Six years ago Bradley Broder was in Northern Kenya and he met a woman who was on her death bed. Her dying wish was that Bradley ensure that her daughter made it through high school. He went back home and his fund raising efforts were so successful that he raised so much money that he and his team sent more Kenyan children to school"........
Stacie Handwerker & VITA NY's fundraising event for KEF
The KEF thanks Stacie Handwerker of the Roth Law Firm for hosting a beautiful fundraiser for us. She teamed up with good friend Wayne Anderson of VITA NY, who designated a portion of sales of his unique jewelry pieces to the KEF.
Our gratitude to you both and everyone in attendance for your support of our work!
