Special IRA Opportunity Expires Dec. 31

Did you know? The charitable IRA rollover legislation allows you to transfer lifetime gifts up to $100,000 using funds from your individual retirement account (IRA) without undesirable tax effects. This opportunity is only available through December 31, 2011.

You may contribute to the KEF this way if:

  • You are age 70½ or older at the time of the gift.
  • The gifts total any amount up to $100,000 in 2011.
  • You transfer funds directly from an IRA.
  • You transfer the gifts outright to one or more qualified charities, but not to supporting organizations, or for gift annuities, charitable trusts, donor advised funds or any gift from which you receive a personal benefit.

Education is the greatest gift anyone can receive.  Your support in 2011 enabled the KEF to sponsor the education of 500 students in secondary schools and universities across Kenya.  At the Holidays, we are reminded of how the smallest sacrifices can have the biggest impact: even the smallest of donations add up to new books, tutoring and even a year's tuition for one of our students.  We invite you to join our efforts to make a difference by donating to our mission - with your help, we can educate
many more students so they can transform their lives and improve their communities.

Wondering what to get your loved ones for the holidays?  Make a gift to the KEF in the name of someone you know!
Just click on the "Donate Now" button below to give a life-changing gift of any amount and the KEF will notify your loved ones of the gift you made in their name.

The average Kenyan earns less than $2 a day.  For less than that ($50 a month) you can sponsor an individual student at boarding school in Kenya!  Sponsorships make wonderful gifts.  This holiday season, show someone you care by sponsoring a Kenyan girl or boy for 4 years of high school.

The KEF is grateful for your support and we wish you and your loved ones a joyous Holiday Season!

"We initially decided to become a sponsor because we wanted to see firsthand the impact we were making on the lives of students. Every time I see a letter in the mail from one of our students, it lights up my whole day. They are so excited about school and eager to learn, it makes me feel grateful to be in their lives this way. Just to help encourage them along their path to a successful education is so beyond gratifying. I don't know of any other organization that has allowed me to have such a personal and rewarding experience with the students we sponsor."

- Meredith May, Phoenix Partners Group LP; the company currently sponsors 5 students.
