Me2 Program: New Energy Efficiency Incentives for Existing Buildings

EducationProviderLogos

The Milwaukee Energy Efficiency Program (Me2) provides unprecedented rebates and financing to make green buildings affordable in the City of Milwaukee. Erick Shambarger, Deputy Director of Environmental Sustainability for the City of Milwaukee, will explain how the Me2 program works and how you can take advantage of this historic opportunity to make your buildings more energy efficient with help from the City of Milwaukee's Me2 incentive and rebate program.

Mayor Tom Barrett recognizes the economic development potential of green buildings. The City of Milwaukee is taking the national Better Buildings Challenge to cut its energy use by 20% by 2020, and he is challenging the business community to do the same! The City of Milwaukee is putting resources behind this challenge. With help from the Milwaukee Energy Efficiency program, MeČ, businesses can more easily implement energy-efficiency projects and take control of energy costs. Whether your business is a corner convenience store or in a large downtown office building, MeČ has the resources and expertise to help you make energy- and money-saving upgrades, like new lighting, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment. MeČ is made possible through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Millions of dollars are available to support energy efficiency retrofits of existing buildings in the City of Milwaukee. For small businesses, Me2 can pay for up to 60% of an energy efficiency retrofit, up to $30,000, and for large properties, the program can pay up to $300,000. Incentives are based on the cost of the project and the energy savings associated with it. This afternoon presentation is sponsored by Me2, includes a lunch and is free of charge. Don't miss this great educational opportunity! For more information on the Me2 program click here.

Erick Shambarger is the Deputy Director of the City of Milwaukee   Office of Environmental Sustainability. The Milwaukee Office of Environmental Sustainability was created by Mayor Tom Barrett to develop practical solutions that benefit Milwaukee's environment and economy. Mr. Shambarger oversees the Milwaukee Energy Efficiency (Me2) program and coordinates efforts to reduce energy use in City operations. The Milwaukee Energy Efficiency program provides grants and innovative financing products to stimulate the market for energy efficiency projects. He holds a Masters of Public Affairs degree with a specialization in energy policy and finance from the University of Wisconsin.

SE2 CONFERENCE - FOCUS ON SPEED NETWORKING

Join
us for our first ever WGBA Speed Networking Session!

Speed networking is a fun and effective meeting format designed to accelerate business contacts. Much like speed dating, speed networking involves multiple people gathering in a single space to exchange a lot of information in a short period of time. During the interaction, participants share their professional backgrounds and business goals in a two minute elevator speech and exchange business cards... when the bell rings, participants move on to the next person and repeat the process! It's that easy and is a terrific opportunity to interact with and create quality connections with a lot of people in a short period of time!
