Dear Friend of WGBA,
Welcome to the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance!
The last six months have seen a significant increase in programs, membership, and volunteers for WGBA. We have some exciting new changes planned to help us accommodate this increase and better serve you. One of them is communication. We want our correspondence to you to be meaningful and efficient, and sustainable! By streamlining event notifications from invites to bi-weekly "Chapter Event Updates" as you see here, we will effectively increase the quality of our communications and decrease the quantity in your in-box! Look for special announcements to come in between the bi-weekly calendar mailings. Topics such as LEED v.4, and WGBA's score in the USGBC 2011 Chapter Annual Report as well as the exciting launch of SE2 2012 registration are forthcoming. Member and volunteer highlights will also be included.
Take a moment to look at the Quick Links to the left of this text. You will see a link to "LEED projects in WI". This database is a result of the excellent work of one of WGBA's current board members, Sherrie Gruder. It is a very comprehensive and up to the minute database. We used it to help us find entries for the 2012 SE2 competition! Also a new Quick Link is "Support Project Haiti". This will direct you to USGBC's Project Haiti web page. Take some time to review the moving pieces about the orphanage and how you in partnership with USGBC, can make an impact to this humanitarian effort.
I want to extend my thanks to all of you who took the time to submit entries to this year's SE2 competition and conference. We received double the number of competition entries over last year which means you all are very busy out there! Great news Wisconsin! We also completely scheduled the six General Sessions topics with speakers who submitted proposals. It shows that the topics, selected by our volunteer committee, are very relevant. |
