Energy Forum: Trends for
2012

Three perspectives on new energy trends in 2012 including energy teams and new energy requirements for commercial buildings, presented by WE Energies, Focus on Energy and ECW |

WE Energies: Designers, builders, and property owners continue to search for ways to reduce operating costs and environmental of buildings while at the same time increase functionality. The Energy Incentives from We Energies programs provide strategic energy efficiency information, services, and incentives to assist you and your business clients in optimizing your facilities by identifying, controlling, and managing energy costs. This segment will offer a high level overview of WE Energies programs that correspond to current trends in energy-efficient technologies and practices.
Focus on Energy: Business owners and leaders are recognizing that managing energy is not merely a technical issue; it's a sound financial strategy and an essential element of a strong business plan. Focus on Energy will share guidance on the creation of energy teams and their benefits while providing case studies on customers that have successfully managed energy use through energy teams.
Energy Center of Wisconsin: The energy efficiency landscape will dramatically change in 2012 with the adoption of new energy requirements for commercial buildings. Join technical experts from the Energy Center of Wisconsin for an overview of the changes and a discussion on what they mean to owners and building designers. USGBC will update its LEED rating system from 2009 to 2012. Similarly, the IECC 2012 code and the ASHRAE 90.1 2010 standard have targeted an additional 30% energy savings over their last version. We'll review how they are achieving it, and discuss tools and techniques to meet and beat them. The Energy Center's Buildings Team provides a wide range of services and technical assistance to help architects, designers and owners improve building design and performance. These services can include energy modeling, daylight modeling, campus and community energy planning, net zero building assistance, hybrid geothermal analysis and more.
