SE2 Speaker Highlight

You won't want to miss our wonderful breakout sessions, including:

"Water Use in Wisconsin: New Strategies for Conservation"

Kim Marotta, Vice President Corporate Social Responsibility, MillerCoors

Rob Zimmerman, Senior Staff Engineer, Water Conservation Initiatives, Kohler

Kim Hosken, Director Green Buildings, Johnson Controls

Water efficiency measures in commercial buildings can easily reduce water usage by 30% or more and save building owners thousands of dollars per year. Although today's water use technology outperforms older versions while using 20-60% less water, the need for water efficiency continues to grow and additional strategies are needed. Join our panelists as they discuss how they build water efficiency into their services and products and conserve indoor water, outdoor water and process water. Rob Zimmerman will focus on current research of indoor water use, the promise and potential pitfalls of non-potable water sources, and how this is likely to intersect with LEED in the future. Kim Marotta will discuss how MillerCoors has reduced water use and discharge requirements and best practices and institutional innovations needed to minimize water risk and maximize 'water opportunities.' Kim Hosken will discuss the benefits and synergies of water savings as well as the impacts of exterior water use using the Johnson Controls HQ LEED Platinum project. She will emphasize the importance of understanding the connections between reducing water use on site and the impacts on the community infrastructure and power consumption. Come ready to ask questions!
