SE2 Speaker Highlight

You won't want to miss our amazing keynote speakers, including Amanda Sturgeon!

Amanda will discuss -
The Living Building Challenge: A Visionary Path to a Restorative Future

Amanda Sturgeon, AIA, serves as the Certification Director for the Living Building Challenge - a philosophy and advocacy platform engaging the building industry to create the foundation for a sustainable future in the fabric of our communities.  She is a licensed architect and has overseen over a dozen LEED projects in the Pacific Northwest including the first LEED Platinum project in Washington State.  She has been influential in the sustainable building movement in Seattle for the last 13 years.

Prior to joining the Living Building Challenge, Amanda was a Senior Associate at Perkins+Will where she co-directed the Sustainable Design Initiative across 20 offices worldwide.  She was a founding board member of the Cascadia Green Building Council and a recent board member of AIA Seattle.  Amanda won the Betterbricks Architect award in 2008 and is the 2011 AIA/NAIUSI Fellow through which she is spending a month in Italy studying Biophilia and Beauty as a pathway to a restorative future.

Her speaking expertise draws from her experience as a practicing architect and also from her experience working at the City of Seattle implementing sustainable building policy into built city projects.

Amanda has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Sydney and a Masters in Architecture from UW-Milwaukee.

Sincerely,
