McMAHON & SCA Tissue North America Host May Meeting
| |
McMAHON is a full service engineering/architectural firm whose professional staff of architects; civil, process, electrical, environmental and structural engineers; land surveyors; contract operators and administrative and support personnel, have provided a broad range of services to a diverse group of clients for over a century. This combination has provided many opportunities for sustainable solutions within the built environment.
The May speaker presentation will highlight a few of McMAHON's forthcoming projects debuting a new frontier of sustainable challenges and solutions:
- SCA Tissue North America An overview of the new addition to their existing facility in Neenah and their sustainable initiatives as a company. SCA places a strong emphasis on renewability, recyclability, and sustainability and has received global recognition.
- Biofilter Research Project - A research project currently underway with the DNR, the USGS, McMAHON, SCA, and Miron. The results of this research partnership will help determine the science behind biofiltration devices and shape future design requirements.
- "Cow Power" Plant - A community manure digester project located in Dane County, which produces renewable energy through anaerobic digestion. This unique project is able to provide numerous benefits to this region of the state including positively impacting the local watershed.
- ThedaCare Physicians Darboy Clinic - This building recently earned a LEED Gold certification for New Construction. McMAHON will highlight some of the project details and discuss sustainability in a healthcare setting.
