Local Food Spotlight
|
In an effort to make our event more sustainable, WGBA has committed to sourcing all ingredients for the meals, snacks, and the kick off event from
local producers. We aim to support the local economy and Wisconsin farmers. Each week, we'll feature an item from our menu, along with information on the source.
TASTE THIS! Willow Creek Farm
Prairie du Sac, WI
Providing Bratwurst at Conference Tony and Sue Renger of Willow Creek Farm care about eating local,
sustainable and humanely produced food. They are fourth generation hog farmers
working 80 acres of land near Baraboo, WI. The Rengers' hogs live comfortable and natural lives, free to roam acres
of green pastures, filled with natural grasses with no genetically modified
plants. The hogs are fed corn, soybeans
and other grasses grown on their farm with no antibiotics or animal
by-products. The Rengers won Reserve
Champion for their bacon at the 2010 Wisconsin Association of Meat
Processors convention.
