IMAGINE CAREERS FEATURES INSPIRING SPEAKERS!
Theresa and GroupNaree and Theresa
Guest speaker Theresa Giles gave an inspiring message of perseverance this month. She grew up in inner city Syracuse, got lost in the world of drug dealing and addiction, and ended up in prison. She is now a minister who runs a successful daycare business. She urged our students to never give up on themselves or their dreams, no matter how hard or how far they might fall.

TIME FOR ART spent a Thursday evening this month at the Turner to Cezanne exhibit at the Everson Museum. Thank you to the Everson for allowing 35 of us to enjoy this wonderful exhibit for free! Students spent previous classtime familiarizing for the exhibit, and traveled in small groups from painting to painting asking and answering questions about each work.

In December, we welcome a group of Fayetteville-Manlius firefighters for a class on joining the ranks. Also on tap is entrepreneur Ms. Della Brown, owner of Tacolicious, an up and coming Syracuse restaurant and catering company.  Della will bring samples of her amazing tacos, and talk to students about becoming a restauranteur.  We also welcome Miesje Havens, owner of The Refined School of Protocol and Etiquette in Syracuse, to teach a class on manners 101 and dining etiquette. She will accompany our entire group for a "fancy" holiday evening out at The Spaghetti Warehouse to practice what we learn! Thank you Spaghetti Warehouse for making this affordable and possible for Imagine Syracuse!
