Liberty International is excited to announce a new monthly edition of Global Facts called "Ask the Attorney." We have partnered with Ms. Barbara Dawley, a partner at Meeks, Sheppard, Leo, & Pillsbury to offer a new service to our clients, expert advice through an anonymous question and answer column. 

Once again, through this column, Liberty delivers the power of value added, customized and personalized service directly to your desktop.  You ask the questions and Ms. Dawley will provide the answers.  Ask any question about general import law.  For example:

• What do I do if my vendor doesn't mark product and then ships it without markings?
• What do I do if my vendor undervalues a commercial invoice and I don't know about it until the entry is filed?
• What import records do I need to keep?
• Is it ok to just let my broker keep their files (I can always ask them for a copy of the entry packet?)

Barbara Dawley received her B.S. from Eastern Connecticut State University and her J.D. from Quinnipiac College School of Law.  She began her career in international trade as an Import Specialist for the U.S. Customs Service, serving in the Hartford District from 1974 to 1984 and serving later in the private sector as a licensed Customs Broker.  Barbara specializes in import law.
